Hi guys! It's me, AiTommyâ¨ď¸

OMG so sorry I completely forgot to write this part 2!!!đ But I want to share my experience here so... yes, let's do that!
...And Then I Got Sick đˇ
Unfortunately, the hot air in the convention center(idk why but the AC wasn't on when we prep the booth)+ aggressive AC hit me hard. I ended up catching a cold⌠right before the actual event started...

I ended up with a sore throat, headaches, and a lot of coughing. Thankfully, no fever!
But of course, I couldnât just skip the event. NO WAY!! I stocked up on medicine, a mountain of throat drops, and powered through. I even brought a bag full of candies and ate them nonstop.

Stepping Into My First Anime Con
Despite the coughing, the convention was amazing!
The place was packed. So many people were there, and the energy was incredible. Everywhere I looked, there were cosplayers. It was super cool.

One of the biggest surprises for me was discovering that people in Malaysia actually knew my work, especially my PPG/PPGZ art!
Back in Japan, it feels like almost nobody knows what I post online. Since I share my art in English, and Powerpuff Girls is better known in the U.S. than in Japan, I had just assumed Iâd never have a chance to meet fans in person.

But at Nijigen Expo, several people came up to me! Some bought my merch, and others told me how much they loved my animations. Honestly, that moment made me so, so happy! It felt like a dream come true. đ¸
There were also quite a few people cosplaying as the PPG/PPGZ, and that made me super excited! đ It was so much fun to chat with them and take photos together. (I wonât be sharing those pictures here since Iâm not sure if itâs okay to post strangersâ photos publicly, so sorry about that!)

So⌠Was It Worth It?
Absolutely! It was a wonderful experience, and if I ever get the chance, I would love to attend this event again in the future.
What About the Money? Well... honestly, earning money wasnât my main goal for this event, so I think that part isnât really relevant here. For me, it was all about the experience, the connections, and the memories I made.
Kuala Lumpur itself was such a fun city! To be honest, I wish I had more time to explore and sightsee. Iâd also love to meet my friends there againâand I definitely want another coconut milkshake. It was so good! đĽĽâ¨
Sorry it took me two whole months to finish writing this July diary, but I hope you enjoyed reading about my very first anime convention experience. Thank you for following along on this journey! đ¸
